Mudgee Events

Gulgong Show

FEBRUARY

This is a traditional country show held every February. Entertainment includes an animal nursery, craft area, model train demonstrations, sheep shearing, snake handling, sheepdog trials and much more.  Held every February.

Mudgee Glow

MARCH

A spectacular event as hot air balloons light up the night sky. An event for the whole family it also features live music, roving performers and entertainment for the kids. Bring your glow stick as this event is all about lighting up the night sky. Scheduled for May and held in the Glen Willow Regional Sports Stadium.

Mudgee Classic Cycling Event

MAY

The Mudgee Classic is a road and gravel racing cycling event. Riders will travel through Mudgee’s spectacular rural scenery, the region’s vineyards and iconic Australian landscape.

Henry Lawson Heritage Festival

JUNE

A long weekend packed with events to celebrate Australian poet Henry Lawson’s birthday. Events include poetry, markets, food and wine, live music and vintage displays culminating in a grand parade. There is also a literary awards dinner and show.  Held over the June Long Weekend in various locations.

MudgeeQue

JUNE

Indulge in the slow-cooked barbeque phenomenon at the annual MudgeeQue.  As you embrace the crisp country air and warm up by the crackling fire drums, you can taste produce from our local brewers, winemakers and distillers whilst enjoying live music.

A weekend of sharing stories, ideas and laughter. Held in August at various locations throughout the region.

Mudgee Running Festival

AUGUST

Whether you’re a first-time runner or an experienced marathoner, the Mudgee Running Festival is well known for its relaxed atmosphere and fun for the whole family. Events include a Marathon, Half Marathon, 10-kilometre and five-kilometre fun run, all held on one day.

SEPTEMBER

Held in the streets of Mudgee, the festival brings the town to life. Featuring the region’s winegrowers, producers, bakers, cooks, distillers and brewers who join together for tastings and meals with a backdrop of Mudgee’s historic buildings. Held in September in the Mudgee CBD.

Sculptures in the Garden

OCTOBER

Combining garden design, sculptures and art mediums in beautiful rural surroundings, the annual Sculptures in the Garden is regional NSW’s largest and most renowned outdoor sculpture exhibition. Running for 16 days, the event is a hallmark of the Mudgee region’s artistic calendar.
